For owners of established US companies
Get paid for your company's history. Keep the company.
AI labs are licensing the everyday records businesses build up over years: emails, job files, tickets, drawings, orders. We help owners find out what theirs are worth and get the best offer from vetted buyers. You keep the business and you keep your data.
- No cost to you
- We never touch your files
- Nothing shared without your signature
14 years of work, sitting in six systems
The opportunity
A buyer showed up for something you already own
AI is being trained to do real office work: quote a job, answer a customer, close the books, run a project. To learn that, AI labs need examples of real companies doing the work over years, mess and all. The exceptions, the back-and-forth, the fixes.
That record can't be scraped from the internet or faked convincingly. It lives inside companies like yours, in your email, your shared drives and the systems you run the business on.
So labs, and the data firms that supply them, now pay established companies to license it. The company keeps ownership. The records are de-identified before anything leaves. And it's a one-time license, not a sale of the business.
Most owners have been asked to sell their company. Almost none have been told that its history has a price of its own.

What buyers look for
If your team has run on the same tools for years, you probably have something
Roofing, HVAC, electrical, solar
Estimates, job notes, change orders, dispatch and service history
Architecture and engineering
CAD and BIM models, drawing sets, specs, RFIs, revisions
Freight and logistics
Rate quotes, load history, dispatch records, delivery exceptions, claims
Distribution
Order history, supplier records, quotes, product knowledge
Accounting
Workpapers, reconciliations, close checklists, internal procedures
IT services
Ticket history, runbooks, resolution notes
Don't see your industry? Ask anyway. Most established companies with a desk-based team have records worth a look.
Internal conversations
Email and Slack or Teams history shows how decisions really get made. It's the piece buyers value most.
Years on the same systems
A long, unbroken history beats a pile of tools each used for a year.
Records that connect
The email about a job, the job itself, the invoice and the follow-up, all traceable.
Real counts
Offers are built on the numbers you report, so measured beats guessed.
How it works
Five questions now. Files never, unless you sign.
- 1
Answer five questions
Headcount, where your team works, years of records kept, which tools hold them, and who can approve. About two minutes. No files, no logins.
- 2
We tell you straight
If your records match what a buyer is looking for, we say so, and which buyer. If not, we say that too.
- 3
Take a simple inventory
Your admin pulls counts and totals from your own systems using our checklist. Still nothing leaves your hands.
- 4
Get a written offer
The buyer puts price, license terms and payment timing in writing before you commit to anything.
- 5
De-identify, deliver, get paid
Names, emails, phone and account numbers are removed or replaced before delivery. Payment follows your contract's schedule.
You can stop at any point before you sign. The cost to you is zero either way.
Recent licenses
What companies like yours have been paid
Licenses reported by firms active in this market.
Figures are the licensing firms' own published statements and have not been independently verified. Logbook Partners was not involved in these deals. Every company is priced on its own records, and smaller firms often receive less.
Why Logbook Partners
One conversation, several buyers
This market is a few months old, and every buyer wants different things. We know who's buying what, and we put you in front of the one that fits.

More than one buyer
We work with several licensing firms and match you to the one actively looking for your type of records, instead of pushing a single program.
Help comparing offers
Perpetual or 24-month license? Exclusive or not? Who handles de-identification, and when do you get paid? We help you read the terms.
We never touch your data
We work from counts and totals you give us. Files go directly between you and the buyer, and only after you sign.
Free to you, said plainly
The buyer pays us a referral fee when a deal closes. It doesn't come out of your offer, and you pay nothing at any stage.
FAQ
Questions owners ask us
What data are we actually talking about?
The working record of your business: company email, Slack or Teams, shared drives, your CRM, job or project system, tickets and accounting history. Buyers want to see how work moved from request to result. Personal phones and personal accounts aren't part of it.
Am I selling my data?
No. You grant a license to a defined set of records for a defined use. You keep ownership, and you keep running your business exactly as before.
Who sees our customer and employee information?
No one, in identifiable form. Before anything is delivered, names, emails, phone numbers and account numbers are removed or replaced. Many buyers also have the result checked by an independent reviewer.
What about client records and confidentiality agreements?
Some records may be covered by client contracts or NDAs. Those are reviewed before any deal, and anything restricted is left out or handled separately. Privileged legal files, patient health records, card and bank numbers and Social Security numbers are excluded.
Does it cost anything?
No. The buyer pays for the data and pays us a referral fee if a deal closes. Neither comes out of your pocket.
Do you need our passwords or access to our systems?
Never. We only need counts and totals your admin can read off a dashboard. If a deal goes ahead, delivery happens directly between you and the buyer under a signed agreement.
How long does it take?
The first answer takes a few days. Buyers typically make an offer within one to three weeks of seeing your inventory, and several recent deals were paid within days of signing.
What if we've switched systems over the years?
That's normal. We note which years sit in which system. Older records in a retired system still count.
We're winding the company down. Does this still apply?
Often, yes. Companies that are downsizing or closing can license their records too, as long as someone still controls the archive. Tell us who that is and we'll take it from there.
Who are the buyers?
AI data companies that license business records and supply them to AI labs. We'll name the specific buyer when we know there's a fit, and you'll deal with them directly on terms.
